Do you put fruit in your stuffing?!

Question: Trying to get an idea on who puts fruit (like apples or raisins) in their stuffing. Quite honestly, i hate it. I have married into a family that does it however. Does your recipe use fruit.

The stuffing I grew up with did not. I've had it with cranberries and liked it. Hate it with apples. We've been doing cornbread/sausage in recent years, sometimes with chestnuts in it.

yes i do its good

No. It doesn't use fruit.

I prefer your example of sausage and cornbread. :)

sausage cornbread thats the best

Nope, putting fruit in stuffing sounds gross.

cornbread stuffing is the best....and i make it with tiny bits of apple or apricots.
raisins, ...no,...dont like 'em.

why dont you make your own pan of stuffing and have the family enjoy both varieties?

I use Stove Top stuffing and do not use fruit in that stuffing. I use celery or mushrooms though.

If you like that sort of thing. I've tried many variations which have included (not all together) - apples, raisins, cranberries, and walnuts, or pecans. I'm with you on the traditional style...but the cranberry does give it a nice flavor when used in moderation.

The best stuffing I ever tasted had oysters in it, and clam juice for the liquid - AMAZING!

I do like cranberries in my stuffing, though. And apples (like apple pie filling) are good in cornbread and sausage stuffing.

good advise, make two different kind of stuffing i use celery eegs milk onions and a other ingridiance good luck

My mom's side of the family whom I spend 95% of holidays with doesn't put fruit in the stuffing so fruitless is what I love and am used to. But the one thanksgiving I spent with my dad's side, the stuffing had cranberries and I couldn't even choke it down and pretend I liked it. I can't even eat cranberries now, one bad experience ruined them forever. You shouldn't bit into stuffing and taste something sweet or sour, it's just not right.

sometimes I put finely diced apples in. As far as raisins YUCK!!!!

I use sausage in my cornbread dressing (I don't stuff - grin). I also add chopped granny smith apples (2 for an average batch), sauteed with the onions and celery, and a cup or so of toasted pecan halves. It is delicious! My family wouldn't let me leave out the apples and pecans if I wanted to.

Enjoy!

I do - though I prefer dried fruit (apricots, plums, etc) over fresh. Fresh lets go of too much water and the fruit is mushy...

Chestnut stuffing is excellent.

I add some apples to my stuffing as I'm cooking the sausage, onion, celery My daughter loves the stuffing.I don't use a lot of apples, just enough to taste.

I'll make it any way, but I've been known to put apples in it. My mom likes it that way.

I don't put raisins in anything. Gross.

no
