I need a good sweet potato pie receipe, that dose not taste like pumkin pie?!


Question: Sweet Potato

INGREDIENTS
2 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups evaporated milk
3/8 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cloves
3 tablespoons rum
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Into food processor, put sweet potatoes, evaporated milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, rum, eggs and butter or margarine. Blend until smooth. Pour into pie shell.
Bake for 10 minutes in preheated oven. Reduce heat to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Bake for about 50 minutes more, or until the filling is firm.


Sweet Potato Butternut squash


INGREDIENTS
3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
2 cups cooked butternut squash
4 eggs
1/2 cup condensed milk
3 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
1 (10 ounce) package mini marshmallows



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Mash together the sweet potatoes and squash in a bowl. Fold the eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice into the potato mixture. Pour the mixture into the pie crust.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30 minutes; arrange marshmallows on top of pie. Bake until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean, about 30 minutes more.

Easy Sweet Potato Pie

9-inch unbaked pie shell
1 large sweet potato, boiled
6 tablespoons butter
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400F.
2. Peel boiled sweet potato and place in large mixing bowl. Mash with butter.
3. Add eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon and vanilla and mix well.
4 Turn out into pie shell and bake for 15 minutes. Lower temp. to 325F and bake another 30 min.

sweet potato pie is supposed to taste very similar to pumpkin pie. It was created by slaves and Southerners who didn't have enough money to buy pumpkin, but they could get yams for much less. That's why alot of recipes the yams or pumpkin is interchangeable

DIRECTIONS
Boil sweet potato whole in skin for 40 to 50 minutes, or until done. Run cold water over the sweet potato, and remove the skin.
Break apart sweet potato in a bowl. Add butter, and mix well with mixer. Stir in sugar, milk, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until mixture is smooth. Pour filling into an unbaked pie crust.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 55 to 60 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Pie will puff up like a souffle, and then will sink down as it cools.
