I need something simple but impressive, help please?!
Answers: Hi there, I have family coming in soon and would like to cook for them, I was looking for something simple but impressive. Think you can help me?
This is so easy only 4 ingredients, looks fancy and tastes great....
Croissant Chicken
1 container croissants (found by the biscuits in refrigerator sec.)
1 large chicken breast
1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 can cream of chicken soup
boil the chicken breast until done then shred the meat by hand ......put in large bowel add cheddar cheese and mix it all together....open the crusants and seperate each of them, take a large pinch of the chicken mixture and place in the middle of the crusant then fold the skinny side up over the larger side (the chicken should be sticking out of the sides) continue until you have filled all the crusants. lay them in a caserole dish not touching eachother....mix your soup with a can of milk or water and pour over the crousants bake at 325 for about 20 minutes until the crousants are brown.
Do they eat pesto?
I've often grilled up some chicken breasts (with a little lemon pepper) and then sliced it and tossed it with some type of tube pasta like rigatoni or cavatappi and a simple refrigerated pesto sauce.
My family likes goat cheese, so I toss a little in - but it's not necessary. You can add whatever else you like - i.e. mushroom, chopped fresh tomatoes...
serve it with some crusty bread. mmm...mmm...mmm
well depends if they like pasta, chicken, rice, etc.MY parents always make rice and beans so thats one opinion.Bay City's good too.Its mac and cheese(-the cheese)with sauce and lots of cheese.Or you could order take out.
I always roast a small chicken, put potatoes, celery, carrots and onion around it top with your favorite seasonings, it's very easy and everyone loves it. My husband loves gravy so I make some and it makes a very impressive meal.
How about this ?
Chicken Breasts,flattened
provolone, slices
your favorite ham, thin slices
bread crumbs, seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and parmesan
egg
Take a flattened chicken breast and top with slice of cheee and slice of ham. Roll up tucking in sides. Roll in egg, then in breadcrumbs. Bake at 400 for about 20 min.
Serve with a caesar salad (from a bag), broccoli with butter, mashed potatoes and gravy (can get both from pkg), brown-n-serve rolls.
Full meal in little time and they will ask to come again.... ;)

*Serve this w/ some type of pasta and a big green salad and garlic bread.*
Chicken Scampi
(easy but delicious and elegant)
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
3 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp lemon juice
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, sliced lengthwise into thirds
In a skillet heat the butter and olive oil on medium high heat until butter is melted. Add parsley, basil, oregano, garlic and salt and mix together. Stir in lemon juice.
Then add chicken pieces and saute for 3 minutes or until white. Lower the heat and cook for about 10-15 mintues or until chicken is cooked through. More butter can be added if needed. Serve chicken over hot angel hair, or other pasta and pour some of the sauce over it all.
Make sure you have some bread to 'sop' up the sauce! This is really good and so quick and easy, but it has a nice presentation on the plate.

Sugar Pie's Shrimp Supreme Casserole
1 lb crawfish tails
1 can Campbell’s French Onion Soup, undiluted
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup, undiluted
1 can diced tomatoes with juice (can use Rotel for more spice)
1 cup uncooked rice
1/3 cup melted butter
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper (or 2 Tbsp. dry)
1/4 cup green onion (or 2 Tbsp. dry)
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
1/3 cup dried parsley (or 3 Tbsp. dry)
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into greased 9”x13” casserole dish, and cover tightly with foil. Bake at 350oF for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with 1 cup Cheddar Cheese; return to oven and bake for 15 more minutes. Serves 8.
I have two very yummy suggestions:
Chicken Parmesan
4 tablespoons margarine
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
? cup breadcrumbs
? cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
dash of pepper
1 egg, beaten
1 jar Prego spaghetti sauce (or your favorite)
grated mozzarella cheese
Melt margarine in a 9x13 glass baking dish in the oven while it preheats to 400 degrees.
Combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, seasoned salt, and pepper. Dip chicken in egg, then crumb mixture. Place in baking dish and bake for 20 minutes. Turn meat over and continue baking 20 more minutes.
Heat sauce in a saucepan just to boiling, stirring frequently. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of sauce over each chicken breast and top with mozzarella cheese. (Use remaining sauce to top pasta on the side.) Return chicken to oven and bake until cheese melts and turns golden brown.
BBQ Brisket
Beef brisket
1 envelope Lipton’s onion soup mix
12 oz. Dr. Pepper
1 bottle chili sauce
Mix onion soup mix, Dr. Pepper, and chili sauce. Place half of sauce in a 9x13 pan (no rack). Add brisket and cover with remaining sauce. Cover whole pan with foil. Bake at 325 for 3 ? to 4 hours (until fork tender). Cool in refrigerator overnight, cut off fat, slice across the grain, and return to gravy. Reheat ? hour in 350 oven (or in the microwave).
(The meat will be very tender, and the sauce tastes like a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. It tastes great with mashed potatoes.)
