My box of Kraft Macaroni and cheese says it's best if used by July 2007?!
Answers: Is it still okay to eat? I'm hungry
I would eat it - they are all dried products in that package- and would probably last for years and years. I've eaten this type of food way past its due date and I have never suffered any problem. This statement is just to cover the manufacturer. Frozen or cooled foods are different and the "sell by date" is only a short time before the "don't use" date. Cans and jars definitely do have a shelf life but much much longer than the "best by" date. After all they are only saying "best by" not "dangerous after" Go ahead and eat it.
Yes, it's ok. It might taste a bit off, but all the chemicals inside it keep it ok. It say best by, not use by or throw away.
It should be fine. It's better if you add a two slices of American cheese.
I would not, that date is there for a reason. Something could be bad, don't know what, but I would not eat it.
Umm, it depends. If it is the kind with the cheese already made ,then no. If it is the kind with the powder then yes!
It's FINE!
yeah its good....they put those dates on there to make you think it goes bad. You could eat that stuff in like ten years from now and it would still be "good"
yeah it's allright!
should be just fine .enjoy
Of course. You want to watch out for expired (and bloated) canned foods and botulism.
Go ahead and eat. They are just saying it is freshest if eaten by this date. It doesn't mean that the day the date passes it is no longer any good.
If it has the powdered cheese, be sure it is not clumped, break up the clumps. If it has the canned cheese init it will not go bad for about 10 years unless it gets flour weevils in it.
It isn't that far out of "best" date.
I think there is an FDA law that says all things have to have a "Best by" date on them whether it means anything or not.
