I have a bread machina (cuisinart) and every time I make whole wheat bread it turns out bitter.?!

Question: I follow the recipe carefully. What could be the problem?

Whole wheat flour does not have as long a shelf life as white flour. It has more oil in it so it can go rancid, especially if you store it where it is quite hot. If your flour is quite old, try replacing it and see if that helps.

Add a little honey to the recipe.

my wife has a yeast infection.. did she sit on dough when she made bread? i dont understand.

If the same happens when you make white bread try a different brand of yeast or bread improver. If it only happens when making wholewheat then try a different brand of whole wheat flour or try adding a bit of white bread flour 1/3 of the original recipe into the mix or even adding a little sugar 2 - 3 tsps.

Do you mean wholemeal bread? The quality of the yeast could affect it. Can you post the complete recipe (or mail it to me please)?

Whole wheat flour is more bitter than white. Make sure your flour is very fresh, and add a few tablespoons of honey or sugar to the dough. If you are using a pre-made mix, get a different brand.
