I am supposed to make a "relish tray" for a family get together. What items should I put on the tray?!

Question: Here is what I put on my relish tray:

Baby dill pickles; sweet pickles; radish roses; celery and carrot sticks; broccoli and cauliflower flowerettes; deviled eggs; cherry tomatoes; black and green olives; jicama slices; red, green and yellow bell pepper strips and I have several dips on the side. I also do a seperate 'deli' tray with cubes of summer sausage, ham, turkey, salami, swiss, colby-jack, pepper-jack and chedder cheeses and a brie with crackers.

carrots
broccoli
radishes
cauliflower
black and green olives
green onions
baby gherkins
Cheese cubes
celery
grape or cherry tomatoes
Plus of course your dip, Ranch is always good

different kinds of pickles, carrots, radishes.

I am making one myself and I am using
Dill pickles (mini)
Bread and Butter pickles (spears cut into smaller pieces)
Colby Cheese (cubed)
Baby Swiss cheese (cubed)
Hot Pepper cheese (cubed)
Green Olives
Black Olives
You can add pretty much whatever you want and could even do a dip. A dill dip with veggies for dunking is good!
Happy Thanksgiving!

You could go fancy and do an Italian style antipasti tray with prosciutto, salami, or other italian meats, parmesan cheese, good quality olives, pepperoncini, and roasted red peppers.

All of the above are appropriate on a relish tray, but you could also add: marinated artichoke hearts, little hot peppers stuffed with cheese, stuffed grape leaves, marinated eggplant.

Celery, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, red and green peppers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and some veggie dip in the center.

Ok all the ideas given so far are good. When talking about a relish tray I wouldn't include veggies. Those are for a vegetable tray, same with the meat/cheese. Below I have listed several things I have used on my relish trays for parties big and small. There are other things on the "pickle" isle that you can choose from.

RELISH TRAY: Dill Wedges, Baby Gherkins, Olives, Pickled Okra, Baby Pickled Corn
