Answers: Thanksgiving day I have to travel about 45 minutes away for dinner with my daughter and her family. I have a pretty big list of things to make and was wondering which of these dishes could be made and refrigorated 1-2 days ahead of time. Please let me know what is best reheated. Thanks so much.

The rice dressing and the broccoli with cheese, I would make at the last minute - a day ahead at most -Rice breaks down over time, and if you can just assemble the other and then do the baking at last minute, it will be fine. As far as yams - fine. Cornbread dressing - be careful with the liquid portions, cuz it could get soggy, spinach and artichoke dip - perfectly fine - eggs - a day ahead at most - cup cakes should be fine!
Did I hit them all? lol!
Happy Holidays!
Deviled eggs.
I am going to make the candied yams but not totally, just cook the yams and then put them in the fridge to be finished the next day.
Green bean casserole may be kind of mushy because of the french fried onions in there.
The dressing I would just put it together all but the wet ingredients. The dry ones don't have to be refrigerated.
Spinach and artichoke dip should be good refrigerated for a few days.
Cupcakes will be ok, too.
Best bets if you need to reheat:
Green Bean Casserole
Candies Yams
Spinach and Artichoke Dip
Cupcakes
ahead of time green bean cassrole .. do not add your onion dried until day off
ahead ... candied yam partial rebake day ahead
dresing day off
ahead rice
broc and corn do ahead
spinach art ahead
dev egg day off
cup cake day off
I'd say everything can be made ahead but the deviled eggs. If the dip is going to be a cold dip, then make that the night before because it always tastes better the next day. Everything else can be made the day ahead.
Best prepared ahead and most really like:
1- macaroni salad
2 - potato salad
3 - 3-bean salad
4 - salami rolls (salami, pickle, cream cheese)
5 - chicken livers wrapped in bacon (broiled)
6 - banana pudding (loved by all, my brother makes chocolate banana pudding)
Cupcakes, spinach&artichoke dip, green bean casserole, and the broccoli&colliflower w/ cheese can be made ahead of time and reheated. The rest of the stuff you can also make 1-2 days before, but be sure to even it out 1-2 days or else you'll run yourslef ragged trying to get everything done in 1 day. Good luck!
I'm not an expert. But i would think that cup cakes might be better fresh. Deviled egg seems to get better when they sit for a while ( making sure that they are kept in the refrigerator ). Hope you have a good time.
Candied yams can be reheated, spinach & artichoke dip, cup cakes can be prepared 1-2 days ahead. Each items can be refrigorated to keep the freshness.
