Very carefully! If you do it too quick it will burn and you will get crunchy lumps of chocolate!
Why not do it the traditional way in a glass bowl over a boiling pan of water, much quicker and easier and less likely to ruin it!

Put it in a heat proof bowl and set the microwave to 2 mins. Check & stir the chocolate every few seconds so it doesn't burn.

you can do it in a microwave but make sure you check it every 20-30 seconds because it will melt and burn very quickly stir it everytime you check it

You can do it in the micro. It should advise you how long on the pack of cooking chocolate.I find standing the bowl over a simmering pan of water is best though as the microwave makes the chocolate too runny if you don't get it out of the oven quick enough. The sides close to the edge of the bowl can burn too, and you'll have a nasty taste in your choccie.

Yes you can. The baking chocolate should have melting directions on it. If it doesnt, use a glass microwave bowl, and microwave for one minute and stir, the continue microwaving for 15 seconds and stopping and stirring every time until it is melted. Stop this when completely melted. You may have to stick it back in and repeat this depending on what you are using it for, if it starts to harden, pop it back in.

I always do mine in the microwave. Break up the chocolate into pieces in a bowl. put in micro for 1-2 mins on full power. Inspect it frequently until it is runny.

You always ask some weird questions... Put it on top of "Hot Water Bottle" problem solved.

I always do it in a microwave. I use a glass bowl and put in a bit of wine or something (just a few drops). Then I turn it on but not too long and mix it and put it on again and so on. It doesn't take too long.

it is better to melt it in a bowl over some hot water its better than a microwave hope that helps

You've gotten a handful of answers from others, and I will tend to disagree with most of them. Chocolate is very delicate. You don't indicate how much chocolate you want to melt, so the amount is going to determine how long you microwave it. I always melt my chocolate 10 seconds at a time, and I stir it after every 10 seconds. You want to bring the temperature up just a little each time. And once the chocolate has begun to melt, just the heat of the melted chocolate itself is going to help the rest of it melt even more. Once the entire bowl of chocolate is about 3/4 of the way melted, take it out of the microwave and just continue to stir it and stir it. It should eventually melt the rest of the way without having to use the microwave again. The heated chocolate will see to that. But if not, another 10 seconds should do it.

Put the chocolate in a bowl and put the bowl into a bain marie or a saucepan in which you have hot water. Stir the chocolate to help it melt. I find this melts the chocolate without any chance of it burning or going lumpy. My friend once tried the microwave method to make a quick chocolate sweet............. that sweet definitely disappeared fast.......... straight into the bin.................yuk!!!

Get a saucepan and put some water in it (not to the top), put a pyrex bowl over it, adjust water level so that the bottom of the pyrex bowl in immersed. Turn on the heat, so that the water starts to boil. Add the chocolate to the pyrex bowl and wait for it to melt.

if you do it in the microwave make sure its on a very low heat & you stop every 10-20secs to check, I have burnt it before & it is terrible....
