How long can you keep ham hocks in the freezer?!

Question: I bought a couple this time last year and cooked one and placed the other one in the freezer and it's been there since. I am gonna cook come collards tonight and I was wondering if this would still be any good? It's in a zip-lock baggy and what makes me think it may not be any good is because the bag is sort of blowed up a little, it's not snug like it was when I first put it in there. What do you guys think? Thanks.

A year is probably a bit to long.
Is it icy or not. If it does not have any ice particles (freezer burn) there is a better chance of it being good.
Is it still fresh looking or has it turned a dark brown color. If it has turned you know it is not good.
The meat will have a funny taste if it is not fresh giving the greens that funky freezer taste. Better to toss it if you are uncomfortable

Pork normaly stores in the freezer 3- 6 months.
