by the way I did the math on the pound of salt.
it's a bit over 1 1/2 cups 1.56
salt is heavier than water. I was wondering why someone asked that. now I know-for brine
Grind your cloves and ginger then weight them. Of course 1 tablespoon is about 1/2 ounce.
This is by weight. Look at the ounces on the bottle/can of cloves or ginger.
one-half of an ounce is 15mls, since you are using dry spice that is equivalent to 1 Tablespoon. For your reference one full ounce is 30 milliliters = 2 Tablespoons=6 teaspoons. Hope this helps!
