COMBINE cake mix, 1 egg and 8 tablespoons melted butter. Mix well with electric mixer. Pour into a 13-by-9-inch pan, which has been lightly coated with vegetable spray.
FILLING: Beat cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, butter and beat. Add powdered sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well. Spread over batter and bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees.
A fun dessert, especially for children, is Funfetti Cookies.
They are soo simple and the recipe is on the side of the Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix box. Basic ingredients--cake mix, icing, veg. oil, 2 eggs...I think that's it.
Also, it's not messy so the kids might even be able to help! And icing them is fun, too!
Just an idea...not too fancy, but lots of fun and soooo good.
What is mundane to you might not be mundane to others...

"Death by Chocolate"
One packaged chocolate cake mix
One large package of chocolate instant pudding
One 16 package of whip cream
2 heath bars
Make the pudding and put it in a large bowl or container. Make the cake in whatever size pan you like (it doesn't matter what it looks like your just going to crumble it up anyway) In a large glass bowl put 1 inch of crumbled cake then cover with pudding, then cover that with whip cream. (amounts do not matter just whatever you feel like. Then start over with cake, then pudding, then whip cream. And keep layering until you get to the top or you run out of ingredients. Just make sure you end in whip cream. Then sprinkle crushed heath bars on top. It is super easy because you really can't mess it up. Plus the layers of different colors look pretty and elegant. It also stores well and although it needs to be refridgerated it would be fine to sit in a car for 45 minutes. Everyone loves this dessert, and it's super easy!
I love this receipe I got from Jif last year and it was like eating a Baker's Square/Perkins Pie. It's easy to make too! I did some modifying from last year...
Decadent Peanut Butter Pie
Ingredients:
1 prepared chocolate graham cracker pie crust
1 cup JIF? Creamy Peanut Butter
8 oz. cream cheese (at room temperature)
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups non-dairy whipped topping, divided
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon SMUCKER'S? Hot Fudge Ice Cream Topping
Directions:
Put 1/2 cup of the hot fudge ice cream topping in the bottom of the pie shell and put in freezer to set.
In a medium bowl, beat together the JIF peanut butter, cream cheese and sugar. Gently fold in 2 cups whipped topping, 1/2 cup at a time (a few creamy streaks will remain in the mixture).
Pour into the crust.
Refridgerate for at least four hours. Cut and put some whipped topping on, warmed pb, and hot fudge drizzled!
6 granny smith apples, cored and diced large
1 16 oz. container Original Cool Whip
1 Bag miniature Snickers
1 Box instant vanilla pudding mix
1 Teaspoon vanilla
Leave the Cool Whip out to dethaw.
Unwrap each snickers and place into 2 large freezer bags; freeze for 2 hours. When frozen, take each bag outside and using a hammer, smash them to smithereens. Bring them back inside and place them back into the freezer. Stir the now-dethawed Cool Whip into a LARGE bowl, and mix in the powdered instant vanilla pudding, and teaspoon of vanilla (if you're using Watkins brand vanilla, only use 1/2 teaspoon--more is not better in this particular recipe). Core and chop the unpeeled granny smith apples into medium chunks, dump them into the Cool Whip mixture and stir to coat the apples well. Finally, pour the smashed snickers bars into the mixture, stirring well after each bag is added. Voila! Well, a little bit of work, but TOTALLY worth it, I can promise you. This dessert is an excellent holiday dish because it looks like potato salad and can be set out with dinner. Even if you don't take it to your mother in laws tomorow, you should still go ahead and make this delicious recipe sometime in the future...you'll be glad you did.
Oh, one more thing~ I've made this the night before, and the results were dissapointing. The apples got soggy, so I suggest that you freeze and smash the snickers tonight, dethaw the Cool Whip in the fridge tonight, but core and chop the apples and mix it all together tomorrow morning. Good Luck!
Pink stuff
12 oz cool whip, can of crushed pineapple , can of sweetened condensed milk and a can of cherry pie filling
Mix all together in a large bowl and let set overnight in refrigerator . I guess you can use other pie fillings and it would be good too.
