What's the best way, in your experience, to chop Pecans? I don't have a chopper of any kind. Hammer/ziploc bag!

put them in a clean kitchen towel and whack em with a rolling pin or heavy skillet

Try running a sharp knife through them. Pecans are softer than walnuts and nuts like almonds, so this works the best.

Most nuts, I put in a gallon Ziploc bag and hit with a rolling pin.

This doesn't seem to work well with pecans tho, they seem to just get mushed.

So do what I do, give them to your child to chop with a knife--that is if you have a child and is old enough to handle a knife!!
When my 17 year old does it, she uses a sharp knife but my 11 year old likes to do it, she uses a butter knife..lol
