Is there anything else you can use besides baking soda if you don't have any?!

Question: I'm making cookies and I don't have any baking soda or any money to go buy any. Can you use anything else?

No, there's no substitute.

You can use some cream of tartar if you have that on hand.

My old grandad used to use sawdust, however it made the cookies taste horrendous, and my granny used them to balance up the kitchen table... it used to have wobbly legs you see ?

do you have self -rising flour? woud be enough for cookies , I guess.
