Hey, my husband actually wants to know something; does the plastic thing need to come out of the turkey?!

Question: Well, does it? Before it's baked. I have a memory problem and he just never paid attention to how I baked one before. ;-)

Are you talking about the plastic piece that holds the legs together? I have done it both ways . It is better to leave it in unless you are stuffing the bird. I never stuff mine so I don't mess with removing that dude. Now about that other thing the pop up timer, I don't go by that dude. I had one to pop up one year and half the bird was raw. Unreliable. You need a thermometer and you need that bird to have 180 internal and she is did.

They can be defective and unreliable, just cook your turkey at 325-350 allowing 20 min a lb, insert a meat thermometer in the thigh and the thickest part of the breast until you get a reading of at least 165 degrees

If your talking about that plastic thing that is holding the legs and stuff together - yes it has to come out first.

Your husband deserves someone better. Take that plastic thing and shove it... in the garbage. :)

lol, yes, you take it out, unless you enjoy eating plastic!
