Can I use wax paper in place of parchment?!

Question: Just realized that I am out of parchment and all I have is wax paper. I'm making a flourless chocolate cake (recipe below)

Can I use wax paper on my springform pan instead of parchment? I am concerned that the wax will melt into my cake.

The print is so small, I can't read it.

Here's what I would do:

Take a piece of wax paper; prepare it exactly according to the recipe - without the mix. Put the prepared wax paper in the pan and in the pre-heated oven for about 15 minutes. Then look at how the waxed paper reacts with the pan.

Yes, that is my real last name!

good concern, as the wax will totally melt.

Im thinking that if you put the wax side AWAY from the batter, you should be fine.

Call yr mom, she will totally know.

It works fine

Yes, you can use it, and no, the wax doesn't melt. It'll be fine. I've used it before.

no, you can't use wax paper in place of parchment.

Wax paper is fine. Won't change the taste or melt into the food.

idk but u can use foil

I always use wax paper in place of parchment.

yes you can , their is not that much wax on the paper to alter the flavor of your cake , parchment paper will not stick to your cake it also protects it from browning to fast.
the wax paper will kind of stick to the bottom of your cake but you can peel it off with ez.
