Apple slices inside a turkey. How do you feel about that?!
Answers: I assume they would need to be thick so as not to burn up inside the turkey?
Well the flavor isn't the important part, it doesn't really give any extra flavor that I know of. It keeps the inside of a turkey moist is all. You could put an orange inside the turkey instead if you prefer.
If you're stuffing it in the turkey for flavor and moisture, try just cutting it into quarters instead of slices! It will stay in better pieces and not burn!
As far as the flavor of apple and turkey, sounds good to me!!!
That sounds different. I never tried that one before... I imagine they would have to be at least pretty chunky I dont' think they would burn up inside the turkey... would you be putting them in dressing? mmmmm sounds delicious!
yes they taste greate and so do pears
It is really good........you cut them into peices that are thick but short.........but i mix it in with the stuffing
I think that sounds fantastic... it's very original... I would not suggest serving them out of the turkey though...I would just use them for the flavor and toss them after you bring the turkey out of the oven....it really is an excellent idea!!!
Seems liek they would dry up and shrivel. Stuffing with apple juice in it would be good.
Use a baking apple like Granny-smith , green apples can hold up to the heat with out turning to mash.
I just stuffed my turkey with apples and oranges& lemon ,before serving I'll remove the apples and oranges.
cut it in any size you like thy will not burn up , unless you burn the turkey.
I think that the juices from the turkey would keep them moist and also add to releasing of the flavor. I say...go for it...but keep them rather chunky.
The only way I make a turkey is apple in one hole and a whole onions in the other. Throw it into a bag. Oh, I also place the turkey on top of celery sticks to keep the juices flowing around the entire turkey, not just the sides and top. Any apple you use will be good.
