How can you get a cake out of the pan, top up, onto the cooling rack without at least 3 hands?!

Question: The pan is HOT, darnit, and if I hold the cake upside down on one oven mitt, using the other hand is not enough to loosen the pan and turn the cake over. And NO, there are no other kitchen helpers around to provide the extra hands!

PUT A PLATE ON TOP AND TURN THE PAN OVER WHEN THE CAKE COMES OUT TRANSFER THE CAKE TO THE RACK

I use two cooling racks for this!
(I only bake a cake about once every 10 yrs, but that's what I do)
Empty it upside-down onto the first rack
Put the second rack upside-down on top of that, then (without squishing the cake), flip the whole thing over.

leave the oven off for 19-20 min then it will be cool, but not freezing cold!

Springform pan. Won't help you with this cake, but it will with the next one.

Alternatively, use a second cooling rack. Flip the cake out on the pan onto the first one, and flip it again onto the second one.

well first of all what u should have done b4 you cooked the cake was to put butter/oil and flour in the pan and then the cake would slip right out. but you need to run a knife around the edges of the pan and loosen it up a little then WAIT until it cools because as it cools the cake will kinda shrink b/c colder things get smaller and its so hot right now that it expanded the biggest it can get!!! so chill out, and just let it cool for 30 minutes or so.

Let the cake cool in the pan until it is able to be handled. Run a butter knife around the edges of the cake. Take a paper towel and hold it over the cake and flip the cake over and out of the pan. Hold the rack to the bottom of the cake and flip the cake onto the rack. That's what works for me.

Hold the pan and put a cooling rack ontop and flip it out. After you do that flip it onto another rack and it will be top up.
It works for me. :)

Turn out onto rack #1. Put rack #2 on top of cake. Turn over.

Buy a cake tin with a removable bottom. When the cake is done you just stand the cake tin on a cup or something like that and then the cake pops out, so easy when you know how.

let it cool a bit more . Place a plate over the top after you have lossened the edges with a knife. Turn the pan over so the cake is upside down on the plate. place cooling rack on the bottom of cake and turn rack, cake and plate right side up. Done

before u put the batter in the pan, spray PAM in the cake pan. then put the batter in and the cake should kick it self out. or place a plate or something on the counter andflip the cake on top of that so that the cake is upside down and them take your hands and shake the cake pan.
