How big a bird are ya? How much does your holiday turkey weigh?!

Question: I've got a 23-pounder, feeding two of us and a couple of dogs. (It was cheaper than the 8-lb turkey breast.) It's happily roasting on a bed of onions and garlic, and soaked in broth.

So how big's YOUR bird?

Mine is a little under ten pounds, it'll be for myself, my husband, and possibly my toddler if we can talk him into trying it. Its being suspended over chicken broth which is steaming into the bird as it roasts, with the skin covered in butter. In the cavity of the bird is just a couple stocks of celery and some of the cooking liquid. I just ran into the kitchen to baste and it is already smelling amazing.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am not having turkey. I will just eat whatever is in my refrigerator that looks easy to prepare.

29 lbs. for the roaster, and two 14lb-ish for the smokers. Yes, we're feeding a crew!

14 lbs and still plenty of leftovers.

I have a turkey breast roll, no waste, cheers.
