Turkey problem!!Someone PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE help me!!!!?!

Question: Can someone tell me what affect this will do to my turkey? I told my husband to cut up an orange and apple and put it in the turkey captivity. Well he wasnt listening and cut up an onion and a lemon I had sitting on the counter for something else!! The turkey has been in for about 20mins now and I finally realized what he had done. Is this going to ruin my turkey? Its my first turkey cooking for the entire family and I dont want it to be ruined!

LOL, you have to love men!!! Actually, I think you might be suprised by how great this turkey might turn out! Dont worry hun, just act as if this were something that were suppose to be done and when people ask you why your turkey taste so great, just wink and say it is a family secret! (Your new family secret!!)

No way, it will be delicious! That's what I add to my chicken cavities. Enjoy!

Call 1-800-butterball

NO IT SHOULD BE FINE YOU CAUGHT IT IT WILL BE FINE DONT FREAK OUT

Take it out and relax. Be optimistic. It could be a delicious recipe!

You should be ok, it'll just have a different taste than if you had used the fruits, but it'll still be good

no worries :)

No, it would taste pretty good. Mmm. lemon and onion. Add rosemary and the orange. Don't add the apple.
What is the apple supposed to do.

no it wont ruin it but it might have an intresting taste to it so i would say just to enjoy it and tell the world you thank him ( if it turns out to be good) at dinner tonight. and hey if it is bad order pizza :)

Onion and lemon wont ruin your turkey. It will just give it a lemon and herb flavor. if there isn't a lot of sweet flavors on your bird, go with it and pull out the spice rack. do it up with pepper sea salt, a little celery, bell peppers and let it cook.

It won't ruin it at all! it will just add a different flavor to your turkey! Unless your using the apple and orange flavor to tie in the rest of your thanksgiving dishes there is no problem at all

It will taste great, now go ahead and add the apple and orange. I use lemon, onion, apple, and oranges in my turkey every year.

Don't worry, it will come out delicious!! Your husband is quite talented...or lucky. You could add about half a stick of butter in the cavity right now if you wanted to, that'd be good too.

Your turkey is fine. I always put onion in mine. You can take the lemon out or leave it in. Go ahead and add your other stuff or leave it out. I PROMISE your turkey will be fine. I have been cooking for 32 years. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

AFTER TAKEN OUT OF THE OVEN TASTE IT AND IF IT TASTES BAD PUT SOME APPLE JUICE ON IT TO WASH OUT THE ONION THE LEMON SHOULD TASTE FINE I PUT LEMON ON MY TURKEY EVERY YEAR IF THE APPLE JUICE DON'T WORK PUT SOME SEASONING ON IT GOOD LUCK!

Hmm I dont know much about cooking turkeys but I do know that they take hours to make.. If its only been 20mins then it only started cook.. It will probably be fine.. just dump the juice out...because if you dont then the turkey will soak and cook & taste like lemon at the bottom.

youll be fine, its a delicios combination. if your that worried take them out and add the orange and apple instead its not to late for that.

First of all, calm down. Just take the lemon and onion out and the turkey will be fine. 20 minutes won't do any harm. Also, you still have plenty of time to put the orange and apple in the turkey. Relax!!! Also, if you have any other questions, call the turkey hotlines.

Hello,
I would take it out. Considering a 20 pound turkey will be in the oven for what five six hours, 20 minutes wont effect it.
Your turkey will taste great :0)

Happy turkey day!

It will be fine. Don't sweat it. Open the first bottle of wine a little early. Lemons and oranges are close enough. Most stuffings use onions anyway. As long as he didn't stuff it with old sweat socks or pink rubber erasers, it will be fine.

50 years from now, when you and your husband are old and grey, surrounded by strong, healthy, happy children and grandchildren, you'll look back and laugh about it.

Are you holding your turkey captive?

Take the turkey out of the oven and scrape it out. If it's not to hot, being only 20 minutes, rinse out the turkey, pat dry, salt and pepper and put back in the oven , cooking till done. I freally worried go get a fresh turkey, the stores are open..........Good luck, Happy Thanksgiving . I'm sure everything will turn out great.

No problem I do this with chickens. It will still taste great

Lemon chicken is great!I think it will be better than if he used the apple.:)

i watched emeril a few days ago, he stuffed a lot of chopped onion in his turkey, along with herbs. you can always add the orange & apple, 20 minutes are not long enough to ruin anything, i'd take the lemon out, though.

Dont panic!!!!!!!!!!! The bird will be cooking a while if u do not want lemon and onion than take out the bird, and put in the apple and orange. I personally think the lemon and onion might be tasty. I still remember my first turkey almost thirty years ago, once I learned to relax, the dinner was not bad but the company was superb and that is all that counted. Good Luck
