If you had a loaf of Rye Bread how would you serve it?!
Answers: My father would make it into French Toast, but I don't want to do that...
Um french rye toast? Blech! That can't be right.
Try a polish sausage cut in half lengthwise with a dill pickle spear and swiss cheese and mustard. Maybe some sauerkraut too?
toasted with smoked salmon mousse
toast, add corn beef, swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing. poof its a reuben!
I'd use it to make myself a nice panini(sandwich)...
Yummmm! Or serve it tomorrow for Thanks giving with butter.
corn beef on rye with mustard its the bomb lol
I go for Ruben
I love rye bread! Try it like this: Cut each slice into quarters, spread with dill dip (I buy it in the deli section of the grocery store), and top it with a slice of a good dill pickle (like Claussen's). Delicious!
I also love it just toasted and buttered.
The only way Rye SHOULD be served is as a Reuben.
You get alight rye and a dark rye.
I assume you have the dark one?
With that I would serve slices freshly cut with a smear of butter, and a selection of cold meats. ( ham, polony, and so on)...
I would also add some cheeses of choice. (Mozzarella, Gouda, Cheddar and cream style cottage cheese)
Many people like the dark rye served with a smear of butter and a sharp cheese, like (blue cheese), and a quart of beer...
Personally I do not like the beer part to that...
You can also toast the rye rather well, to become crispy. Cut in to small squares and use it in a soup as croutons, or as croutons in a mixed salad.
Have fun with it.
