Where can i buy vanilla sugar from? (UK only)?!
Answers: Ive heard of vanilla essence and vanilla pods but the cheescake im making says i need a sachet of vanilla sugar to put in. Can I just get this from an ordinary supermarket or do i need to go elsewhere?
ive used vannillla sugar before in h.t for making a crumble and i got it from tesco :) i think it was either in the home cooking isle with the icing sugar and stuff or it was in with the normal sugars :) good luck !
might be an idea to try the more expensive shops, that will have cooking ingredients, i somehow cant see tescos or asdas stocking it, but hey i could be wrong, enjoy your cheese cake
you can make you're own vanilla sugar if you cant find any but it will take a week i'm afraid. check out the website below for instructions.

Waitrose sell it with the vanilla essence and cooking ingredients.
I used to get mine from Waitrose, but you can also make it. All you need is a large jar, and about 5 large vanilla pods, and fine caster sugar. bury the vanilla pods well into the sugar for a couple of days, then remove the pods, slice open, and using a paring knife, gently glide the knife down the pod, removing the seeds and add back into the sugar, and mix well. Just keep it in a covered jar in the cupboard. It is cheaper and you can use it for a variety of things, including baking, dusting over pies and cookies, or it is great added to a late, instead of regular sugar.
Why dont you make some, just simply add a vanilla pod to a tub of sugar & then you have it a available all the time
You can make your own by adding a few vanilla pods to some sugar and storing it in an airtight container.
Any health shop should have it in stock
tesco's in poole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ive seen instructions to make just store the vanilla pods in storage jar with the sugar. ive not seen it in the supermarket
