Question: Why is it that so many people have trouble making gravy. I follow directions, and there's Never lumps.
What's so hard about it?? I just don't get it.

I think its that gravy is not an exact science, but one you get the hang of it its cool... or should I say SMOOTH lol

That's a stupid question!

Lol ... I'm not sure, but I guess it might have to do with whether they use flour or cornstarch for thickening. Flour can cause lumps, while gravy made from cornstarch is far less likely to be lumpy.

They probably don't fully disolve flour or cornstarch in COLD water before adding to other ingredients or don't stir with whisk. If making by 'roux' method, liquid should be warm and added slowly, stirring constantly again with whisk.
