Van Morrison and Simon and Garfunkel both make excellent background music without EVER going out of style.

depends on the age range of the group...if youre having a very wide variety of people...the elders won't want to hear rap...so play some things that are easy for everyone to listen to...maybe throw in a few others for specific age groups...OH! and do some things like the electric slide or my personal favorite the cha-cha slide (variation on the e-slide. it tells you exactly what to do in the song so anyone can do it!) play some oldies but goodies from 70's, 80's and 90's....since im assuming you are probably from that age range, i know wide age range! haha.

shout, twist, get down tonight, copa cabana, rock n roll all night/party every day. promiscuous. under the board walk. i wanna be sedated. locomotion. girls just wanna have fun. hey ya!. welcome to the jungle. achey breaky heart. rompe. whoomp there it is......just to give ya maybe some ideas!?
