Baby shower menu ideas please!?!

Question: I'm throwing a baby shower for a friend. I have all the games planned, I've sent out the invitations, bought the favors, etc...

Right now I'm just looking for menu ideas I was thinking about maybe some finger sandwiches and fruit salad type things. It will be after lunch but before dinner, so nothing too heavy... any ideas or recipes would be greatly appreciated!

Finger Sandwiches sound perfect... I had them at my baby shower, and we also had tea... so it was like a tea party kind of a theme.

Check out these websites, as they all have recipes and yummy sounding menus:

I just threw a baby shower and did all finger foods. A variety of finger snadwiches, mini quiche, fruit skewers, veggie tray, stuffed mushrooms, taco bites...there are also some great recipies from Pampered Chef for appetizers that are easy and very tasty. Good Luck.

i dont have any suggestions sorry, but try this site if no one else answers it has tried and tested recipes for all occasions.

I always make "pinwheels" for parties and they're a big hit. Here's a few I make:

1. Ham n cheese- Mix cream cheese and some dry ranch dip mix. Spread on flour tortillas. Add sliced deli ham and deli cheese. Roll up tightly and wrap in aluminum foil. Leave overnight. Slice & serve.

2. Salmon roll ups- Spread Onion & Chive cream cheese on spinach tortillas. Add thinly sliced salmon and baby spinach leaves. Then same directions as above. SO GOOD!

3. Veggie Roll ups- Mix cream cheese & dry ranch dip mix. Spread on flour tortillas. Chop veggies (cauliflour, broccoli, carrots, etc) and add to tortillas. Then same directions as above.

These are always a big hit with few leftovers!

I love doing "high tea" for baby showers. Offer teas with and without caffeine. For foods, I make scones, served with jams, lemon curd and clotted cream (availbale at the supermarket); small chicken salad finger sandwiches; cucumber, dill and cream cheese sandwiches; some sort of bread, such as lemon or orange poppy seed, strawberries dipped in chocolate, lemon cookies or lemon bars, and two-bite brownies with raspberry jam in the middle, and sometimes Russian tea cakes. For something really special, I make petit fours, and decorate them in the color of the baby if I know it. Here are a couple sites that have recipes--
