I think it is fun/funny as a teen and beyond to do something you haven't done since you were little.. like a bowling birthday party or one at the roller rink.. or if it is a smaller number of people you could do a hotel party and enjoy the indoor pool and spa.. those are very popular in nj..

Try going for a dinner with all of your friends. Have some fun swimming, or bowling. Not sure if you have it in NJ, but there's a place called AMAZING JAKES here. It's very fun, as you can go bowling, go-carting, mini golfing, playing in the arcade, or laser tag. Even for 17 year old, you'd be surprised how much fun it is.

I'm from North Jersey too! I like good old house parties cause that way you can drink and not have to worry about renting a hall or anything, Plus you can make it BYOB so everyone can bring thier own stuff. But there are other good options:
-Go down to Pacha in Manhattan! It's so much fun, the DJs play a great variety of music. It's free admission if you sign up on the site for your birthday. If you're not down for clubbing, go see a play on broadway. There's tons to do in the city.
-Go to Medieval Times, if your friends have money. My guy friend did it so we got a good deal cause we were a large group so we all split the bill. The show is awesome, the food was awesome! It's in lyndhurst.
