B-day party food?!

Question: For my son's first b-day party we are having BBQ pork sandwiches. Any ideas of things we can serve with these? Almost everyone attending is an adult.

At my daughters first we kept it pretty simple. Potato salad, macaroni salad, fruits, coleslaw, you could even do some baked beans with your sandwiches. We did her party pot-luck style & everybody brought a little something. That way we got tons of variety and it wasn't so much work for mom! :-)

chips

Beans, French Fires, Garlic toast, Slaw and potato salad. He can eat everything on the menu, unless he has specific allergies.
Don't forget white cake so he can have some of his own birthday cake.

Maybe a bean casserole, stir fried veggies, and a fruit salad. Yum!

twice baked potatos rule

I made BBQ pork sandwiches for my mothers bday a few weeks ago. I served the Pork on Texas toast rather than buns. I sliced white bakery bread slathered them with butter garlic and parsley and then grilled them. I also served Baked Beans and Coleslaw. Make a batch of sweet tea with lemon to drink with it and you'll be set!

Just make it simple. Do some chips and dip. Maybe some pasta salads.

Chips & dip, beans, pasta salads from the deli, some cut up veggies/fruit, sodas & water...

Don't worry about entertaining so much, reserve yourself to spend this wonderful occasion with your son ( a mistake I made with my second daughter's 1st birthday).

Enjoy! You deserve it!

I would do homemade coleslaw and home made oven fries. Cut potato wedges, put in a bag with oil and spices (pepper, garlic powder, paprika or whatever you like) Shake to mix. Put on a baking sheet. Cook at like 350. Keep turning them so that they become brown on both sides.

cole slaw or potato salad

Chips and Dip, Nachos and salsa, pretzels,

...potato salad or macaroni salad + chips.
