Are there really Christmas parties like in the movies?!

Question: Where are the Christmas parties where people dress up in sparkly gowns and drink champagne and eat o'dourves off of silver platters brought around by waiters and where like a dude is playing Christmas music on a grand piano. Cause I have never been invited to one but I always see it in the movies. Thank you!

When you become rich and famous you will get plenty of invites to those special parties...

then you will see reality hit you in the face as they are not all they are cracked up to be...

someone is always argueing in the background... getting drunk and passing out or running around the baby grand buck naked... heehee

I throw a christmas party every year. Lots of food and dressed up people. I dont have the grand piano but there are always carols playing.

Yep- I've been to parties like that, but toward the end of the evening sometimes they start to look like the parties in "Animal House"-especially the people that have had too much to drink.

I'm a party planner and I have at least five parties like that booked in December - it seems that each house I visit is larger than the last.

I need to raise my fees. ;)

BUT - having passed hors d'oeuvres is amazingly affordable for the average party host (and many do it). Usually $20-30 per hour plus tip per staff person. I like doing passed apps because you can serve them exactly as they are intended, either icy cold or hot from the oven.
