First of all, I would recommend changing the party to begin later than 6 because a 9 hour party is really long. The party may die down. You should make your b day a cocktail party: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/et_pa_co...
http://www.ehow.com/how_3614_host-cockta...

For activities:
-Have different movies playing in the background
-Have board games laying out.
-Beer pong (try to read up on different drinking games)
-Have a self serve bar. Have recipe cards of different martinis and ingredients available. Food network has some recipes: http://search.foodnetwork.com/food/recip...

For food, have finger friendly foods such as:
-Set the party back so people can just come to munch.
-chips and dips
-cookies (do a cookie exchange. ask your friends to each make one type of cookie and make sure not everyone has the same cookie)
-Gourmet Pizza
-Cheese platter with crackers
-Salmon tarts http://entertaining.about.com/cs/horsdoe...

karaoke - late - when everyone has already had enough to drink. hear them sing.or maybe hear them who cant sing. hahaha. you have video record it!! wil be fun to look at it together at the next party. then... try a photo station-also good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! my bday is on the 17th! :) I would recommend getting lots of beer, vodka for mixed drinks and liquor for all thos that like to party harder then others. pizza is always a good food when your drunk, and if you can buy a couple of party platters that would be great as well.

I would recommend more food and less alcohol.
Suggestions:
Buy ingredients for subs and let them make their own
Pizza - always a crowd pleaser
Vegetable platter with dip
Snacks of course: Chips & dip, pretzels, etc.

Other liquids you might consider are soda or water. Just provide the ice.
Music is good but don't blast it. You want your friends to be able to talk.
Cards and board games. - I liked that idea.
I'm not sure about movies. Not everyone has the same taste. Unless you have a separate room for the movies and music, I would go for the music.

Happy entertaining!

When I'm having a party, I go to kraftfoods.com and play with all their recipes. You need to have some sweet foods (cookies, cake); some savory foods (a warm cheese dip, crab dip, spanikopida, etc,) and some actual food (chicken drummies, sushi, etc) That should last most of the night. You may want to have one signature drink that is easy to prepare. One of my favorites is blueberry vodka in lemonade. That way you're not spending a fortune on alcohol.

I think since you are 19 it would be best to serve platters. Definitely have a vegetable platter. You can also have a bread that you scoop the middle out and you put spinach dip in and then you cut the bread in squares that you scooped out. Then, you can have a platter of egg rolls. You can also have some Chips and put out salsa and guacamole and cheese dip. You can have bowls of pretzels. Another nice thing is you can make grilled cheese sandwhiches and cut them up in little pieces. You can have cupcakes, cake, soda.
