I'm looking for something tasty to make for lunch for tomorrow's football games - having a few friends over?!

Question: How about a crockpot of shredded bbq beef or pork? Everyone can build there own sandwiches and then just set out some tortilla chips and salsa, potato chips and dip, veggies and ranch, and you got yourself a lunch.
Here's a popular pulled pork recipe, it does take a while so start really early:

There are lots of recipes for pulled beef or pork that don't take as long, but this one is VERY good... everyone will be pleased!

Another idea is frito chili pie-- Lots of chili, fritos, and cheese. You may even want to get smallish bags of fritos so each person can pour the chili and cheese right into their own bag of chips and eat with forks.

It's kind of old fashioned, but Tex-Mex is always easy. Just add a twist to the usuals.

Spicy Chili Cheddar Burrito Pockets-- http://www.recipezaar.com/72330
Sausage Con Queso Dip-- http://www.recipezaar.com/209526

Have Fun!

Have Fun!

Veggie tray with dip. Buns and deli meats. Cheeses. Olives.

All is easy to make and easy to eat. Minimum of fuss while watching the game.

You could also take jumbo busicuits and cover them w/ smoke sausage and bake for handful pigs and a blanket. dipping sauces couldl include: bbq sauce; mustard; ranch dressing; etc.

when i have football partys. i like to serve mini sandwiches. you could also serve veggie with dip. chips and dip. if it is a nice day out. go outside and grill. always stack up on drinks. if your feeling lazy. you could always order pizza.

You may put some pieces of chicken in the oven.Do not forget salt, paper & spices ....It will be ready within 20 min ..
Then design it with olives, chips.tomatoes or steamed vegtables.
There are variety of sauces for dressing

Pizza or Subway subs!!!
That's what we're doing anyway, along with
chips, salsa & hot artichoke dip, buffalo wings w/bleu cheese dressing, turtle brownies,

This recipe is GREAT. I've made it consistently for over 20 years. It's taco dip.

Get a packet of Taco Seasoning (in the Mexican section) and mix that with a 16-oz container of sour cream, and an 8-oz package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese. Spread this on the bottom of a large serving dish/plate.

Then add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced olives, and top with shredded cheese. (You can add anything else you think you'd like too.)

Then serve it with Tostidos chips. It is AWESOME!

Another easy snack (if people like spicy food) is stuffed Jalapeno peppers. Halve the peppers (wear plastic gloves when handling them or you'll get burned) and scoop out the seeds if you don't want them that hot. Then just fill them each with cream cheese. You can add bacon bits in the cream cheese and mix, prior to stuffing if you want. Or you can use real bacon and wrap the peppers. Sprinkle bread crumbs over all the peppers. Bake at 350 for about 1/2 hour (longer, maybe an hour if you use raw bacon) and then serve with Ranch/Bleu Cheese dressing or sour cream.

Also, crockpot chili is simple. Just get a packet of Chili seasoning in the spices/sugars/cooking aisle of the grocery store. Just add some ground beef, and the other ingredients on the packet seasoning, and if you like, add green peppers, onions, etc., and let simmer in the crockpot or in a pan on the stove for at least an hour! Then get a pack of hotdogs and buns and shredded cheese and have the option of just eating chili or making chili dogs.

Since the other people responded with the main dishes I'll offer up some sides:

Tis the season for CHEX MIX
Flavored popcorn or pretzels
Mexican food restaurants often offer appetizer platters, those are always a hit with my friends
"Cheese Dip" made of melted mexican style velveeta and Rotel tomatoes.
A cooler full of assorted beverages

Enjoy!!
