As a child we called this "Glop". It is easy, inexpensive, and a family favorite.

In a large skillet saute 1 to 1.5 pounds ground beef with 1 small minced onion and a pinch of salt.
Add a large can of chopped tomatoes (juice and all)
Add 3 to 4 large handfuls of dry elbow maccaroni
Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Stir well.
Add water to just cover the pasta completely.
Cover and simmer for 30 mins. stirring occasionally. Add water if it gets too dry.
<go get dressed for the party>
When the pasta is cooked, turn the "glop" in to a pretty warmed serving dish (do not put hot glop ina cold bowl!)
Sprinkle with a white cheese of your choosing (mozzerella, provalone, parmesean, a combination?)
Cover with foil tightly and go!

Have fun!

Betty crocker makes really good potato dishes in a box. Buy two of them, bake them in a glass dish and bring them to your potluck. There are potato dishes like au gratin and more.

No time! Just go buy some Kentucky Fried Chicken, take out of container and put on a pretty serving dish.
You can also go to your favorite restaurant and order some thing to serve so many people, take it home and put that on a pretty serving dish.
Have fun and enjoy...

You can stop by Subway and get a big sandwich. You might need to call ahead and order it though.

How many servings are we talking here?

Buying a bucket from KFC always worked for my family...

Go buy 3 lbs hamburger meat.
24 ozs. tomato sauce
32 ozs chili beans
bag of oyster crackers
you'll have a big pot o chili
don't forget big spoons

If there is a Sams Club or Gordon Foods near you buy a cassaroll-- like Shepard's Pie or Tuna Noodle Cassaroll -- that way it is already prepared and all you have to do is put it in the oven --- or better yet, microwave. Beware: they may take up to 1hr and 20mns to bake, so buy the ones that don't take that long and keep the cooking time in mind b4 purchasing.

go to your local grocery store......they ALWAYS have things that you can buy ready made. If there is a 'theme' then get something appropriate.......otherwise, just go to the counter and buy a bunch of something you see.

If this is at a place where you can cook something or IF you have time before you go.......I would buy ready made (frozen section) lasagne.....
ALWAYS A HIT!!!

Get a few of the ready cooked chickens. Cut it up and place on a serving dish.

You will do fine.

Popeye's Fried chicken, or the convenience store kind will do,
Order a meat tray from the grocery store or deli right now! A spiral cut ham or they will cut a regular ham for you at the grocery store, call now!!! I saw those in store pre-cooked rotisserie chickens and ribs at the Sam's & other places all hot & ready, call now! I say call now so they can have it ready and all you have to do is swing in there and pick it up. It may take them time to get it ready for you, rush hour you know!!!

bring a jar of spaghetti sauce, some pasta and some mozzarella cheese.... cook the pasta 1/2 way through, and then put in a baking dish. dump the jar of sauce over top mix in the shredded mozzerella, add 1/2 jar of water... stir up, put aluminum foil covering the pasta dish, and bake in oven for 45 minutes... which you can do at the party....
very easy...

You could get some spaghetti sauce from a jar and cook up some pasta and viola! you're done. It's cheap, easy, and people like it. Take some Parmesan cheese to top if desired.
