make a greek orzo salad and serve in martini glasses.

I'd stick with vegetable based food, as it's fairly cheap, and go easy on the meat.

Appetizer - Either buy a some prepared dips (hummus, olive tapenade, bruschetta, garlic butter) and serve with assorted breads and breadsticks, or serve a stuffed vegetable. I like to serve stuffed cherry tomatoes and mushroom caps.

It's pretty easy to make stuffed mushrooms:
- Remove the stems from 20 large white mushrooms, and dice them up.
- Chop up one small onion, and fry the stem bits and the onions in a tablespoon of butter. Mix these with 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup cream cheese, 1/2 cup grated parmesan. You can add 1/4 cup chopped spinach, or 1/4 cup mozzarella if you want, for taste.
- Stuff this mixture back into the mushroom caps.
- Top with a sprinkling of breadcrumbs and mozzarella.
- Bake on a foil-lined sheet at 350 for 20 minutes.
- If you want stuffed cherry tomatoes, just cut the tops off cherry tomatoes and stuff with the same mixture, but bake for a little less time.

I'd probably serve a fresh pasta with pesto and salad for dinner. If that's not your thing, buy fresh fish fillets (I would suggest tilapia, halibut or salmon), sprinkle with fresh dill and lemon, and bake for 20 minutes inside a foil bag at 400 degrees.

Baked potatoes with sour cream, butter and diced chives are always a classy accompaniment, and very simple and cheap.

For a veg, dice red pepper, yellow and green zucchini, and broccoli florets and saute with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic paste. A wok is best for this. Throw in the broccoli and peppers first - they take longest.

Desserts are easy - my favourite dessert to serve is so simple. It's bailey's pudding.

- Take a box of jello instant chocolate fudge pudding. Follow directions, but instead of milk, use 1/2 milk (mix the milk in first) and 1/2 Bailey's irish cream liqueur (or kahlua, if you prefer) to blend it.
- Pour into brandy glasses or whiskey glasses and chill.
- Place a dab of whipped cream on top, and a fancy biscuit, to decorate.

I've also had good results with this raspberry cheesecake:

Afterwards, serve a plateful of mint bonbons, hot coffee, and you're done!

new years eve--no pork 'n kraut?? might as

Appetizers: baby smokey links in bbq sauce, crackers with cream cheese decorated with a sliced olive- green or black

Small Greek Salads
Broiled Chicken Breasts served with twice baked potatoes
