I am having people over for lunch?!

Question: what should I make to eat? It's probably going to be snowing.

A hearty soup - split pea with ham, vegetable and bean, corn chowder, chicken noodle, or some sort of cream soup like clam chowder or cream of broccoli

Something bready - a loaf of bread, like baguette or garlic bread, or toasted open-face sandwiches (turkey, tuna salad, or veggie) with cheddar or mozzarella cheese bubbling on top.

Ginger, chai or black tea; hot coffee; or hot chocolate.

If you're making dessert, make something wintery and warm. Spiced apple cake or crumble, hot; or pineapple upside-down cake with lots of syrupy caramel sauce.

something with cinimum tea or hot apple cider with cinimum...........

How many people are you serving and what are your favorite things to eat on a cold winter's day? If you having a lunch on the weekend, make it a potluck and have everyone bring a favorite dish to your lunch. I had lunch at a friends recently and she served a potato soup with diced ham, in bread bowles and just let everyone serve their own amounts out of the crockpot. Each of us brought with us a desert and the recipie to exchange with others. Coffee, tea and spiced cider were served by our hostess. We had good food and a great time.

Curried butternut squash and apple soup.
Grilled cheese sandwhiches with swiss, provolone and ham.
Homemade chocolate chip cookies, baking in the oven when your guests arrive.

When it is cold out, its nice to serve beef stew!! I love it when its cold out, or split pea soup with ham! Then for dessert you can make hot chocolate, coffee, and angel food cake! Good luck!

Make some chili beans. Then have chips, cheese and some sour cream to dip if they like. Then cornbread goes good with chili. Some nice hot tea will be nice.
