chips, crackers and spinach dip or crab dip

BUTTER COOKIES

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg, unbeaten
2 2/3 cups flour

Using an electric mixer at medium speed, cream together butter and sugar, adding sugar gradually. While mixing, add egg, sprinkle in salt and vanilla. Beat well to combine.

ALMOND BARK CANDY

1 lb. pkg. almond bark
1/2 c. finely rolled walnuts
3 tbsp. peanut butter
6-8 c. Rice Krispies
Waxed paper

Melt almond bark in microwave, stir and add peanut butter, then walnuts. Fold in well. Add Rice Krispies. Put 2 long strips of wax paper over table. Fill a soup spoon. Press on side of bowl. Push off onto wax paper. Sets up fast. Will last indefinitely when stored in cans.

BOWL 'N' ALL SPINACH DIP

1 pkg. instant vegetable soup mix
1 c. sour cream
1 c. mayonnaise
Chopped green onions, optional
6 oz. frozen cut spinach, thawed and drained
1 round loaf sourdough bread or pumpernickel bread

Mix thoroughly all ingredients. Chill 1 or 2 hours or overnight. To serve, dip mixture into a hollowed out round loaf or sourdough bread. Serve with bread cubes reserved from the loaf together with assorted raw vegetables.

DEVILED EGGS

6 eggs
1/4 tsp prepared mustard
1/8 tsp dill
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1/8 tsp white pepper
1/8 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp salt
1-2 tsp milk

Place eggs in a pan and cover with water. Boil eggs for about 4 minutes.
Remove from heat and place in ice water. Let cool down to room temperature.

Peel under cold running water. Slice eggs in half. Place egg whites on a plate or serving tray rinsed and dried.

Mash egg yolks with a fork and add all ingredients except for paprika.

If desired, you can add more mayonnaise with a little bit of milk (small amounts at a time, as you can always add but not take out or you'll end up boiling another egg or two.. lol..)

Fill each half about a teaspoon and sprinkle with paprika. Cover and refrigerate up to 24 hours.

Makes about 6 servings. Be creative, top with bay shrimp, anchovies, or add some of your favorite spices.

cucumber slices, spread cream cheese on them, then put pieces of smoked salmon on top, then sprinkle dill on them. dont forget the "lil smokies" sausages, those are ALWAYS a big hit!

HOT KISSES are a crowd pleaser.

uncooked shrimp, shelled and deveined
Fresh jalopenos, halved and cored of the seeds (thats what makes them too hot)
bacon strips cut in half

put a piece of shrimp into a jalp piece, wrap it with bacon, then poke a toothpick through to hold it all together. You can grill them outside, on the george foreman, or bake them in the oven. We always make 250 of them for super bowl party a they are always the first thing gone!!! You can add pineapple to them or different peppers, they are good no matter what. I think we sprinkle them with seasoning salt too.

good luck,

Serve finger food and lots of it. As a host to the first party of the year (or any party for that matter), you are expected to exercise reasonable care towards the well being of your guests. If they drive home drunk and manage to kill someone, you may be held partly responsible (depending on what state you live in). A memorable party will have lots-o-spirits, lots-o-food, and lots-o-cabs! Cheers!

Chicken fillets & fish fingers!!!!!!!!
