How many sprouts should I serve per person for Christmas lunch?!

Question: It is the first time I have hosted Christmas lunch and I want to make sure everything is perfect for my guests.

For a large group I never serve more that 4 per person. There are a lot of folk really don't like the strong flavour. Now if they're German (and I have German friends I serve 8 per person and never have leftovers). For one or two people (3 including yourself) make 18 and either save the leftovers or toss them. To put only 8 or 10 on the table looks pathetic.

What kind of sprouts? Bean sprouts, mustard sprouts, mold sprouts? Brussel?

I agree with the writer below, Brussel sprouts are fart bombs waiting to happen. Make something nice with green beans!

None. They are nothing but fart pills..urgh!

i think 4 for children (6+) and 6/7 for adults xxx

Do you plan on plating everyone's meal for them? I think you'd be better served placing the food out and allowing people to choose their portions.

I would say 4-6, depending upon there size and what other veggies you are serving, and those quantities.

None, you are better off serving another veggie such as green bean, broccoli or cauliflower in a cheese sauce, peas and pearl onions - not many people like brussel sprouts.

Gee, it's funny. I never heard of someone serving these for lunch to guests. At first I thought you meant bean sprouts and thought - what a strange question. ha ha

If you must do this, people might eat five or six.

Brussels sprouts? None. Not a single one. Nasty and they stink up the house.

NONE. DON'T DO IT. IT WILL BE YOUR LAST HOSTED LUNCH.
