It really depends on what types of dip you will be using, but carrots, cucumbers, celery and mild pepper strips should be fine.

Celery, baby tomatoes. Doesn't sound much fun for party food!!

celery
red pepper

you can also take Celery, Cherry tomatoes.

my son's school do not allow food to be taken in as they say the law on food hygeine in schools won't allow and we have to pay £2 per child for party food. you are very lucky. carrots, cucumber and celery are good

wow have school parties gone healthy, asll we used to have were pop, crisps, biscuits and cakes. I suggest you take in little celery sticks, and apple slices.

You could also take Jicima, just peal the outside and slice into matchstick sized pieces. It is sweet and tastes good. I would stay away from radishes as they can be hot sometimes but how about slices of celery and cherry tomatoes?

Quick story - i bought my children some good party food, as i wanted them to have the things they liked so i didnt mind spending the little extra, anyhow off they went and when they came home i said "did you enjoy your party, and how did the food go down" they said "the teachers picked all the best bits and had it in there office for the staff party" i was furious ! so ive never put that much thought into it again. Hope this doesnt happen at yr kids school. What a cheek dont you agree......

celery would be good

I also serve sweet peppers strips, celery sticks and baby corn.

For adults I serve things like asparagus spears, fennel bulb slices, chicory leaves and radishes, but they'll be wasted on the children.

take:

Asparagus
Cabbage
Eggplant
Kale
Leeks
Parsnips
Turnip greens

You could bake some parsnip and potato wedges / slices in the oven

Don't go too overboard; remember, 24 other mothers will also be panicking about whether they've sent "enough" LOL

My kids' classes were eating the leftovers up at playtime for about 4 days after the actual party.

I used to bake a gingerbread animal for every id in the class, and the teacher always saved them till the next day so they were appreciated LOL!

You could use celery stalks and put peanutbutter on it, but then you have to call ahead to see if there are any alergies. Cucumbers are always good, carrots and ranch is a favorite.

Could you do a fruit platter instead? Because then you have apples, melons, little oranges.

Seedless grapes, raisins (the little mini boxes), mandarin oranges from a can, string cheese, granola, craisins, popcorn, graham crackers, crunch n' munch, animal crackers
