What is the collective name for cups and mugs?!

Question: Plates and Dishes fall into 'Crockery'. Where do cups and mugs fall into as far as classification is concerned?

Tableware is too broad a term.

PS: I'm not really this boring - it's for work!!

Drinkware, vessels...?

tea set,???

I dunno....cupboard-ry?

Cuplicatories, or Mugathoids

You are welcome ;)

I would have thought they also fell into the crockery catergory- otherwise you could have "libation vessels"! just a thought.....

Nat, before I read your entire question and had seen only the subject line, my first thought was the cups and mugs are crockery.

Consider that they are often manufactured as components of the same set of dishes as plates, saucers, and bowls. Even when they are not part of a complete set, their manufacture is of the same type--china or porcelain with a glaze.

IMO, crockery is all the china or porcelain dishes, tableware/flatware/silverware is forks, knives, spoons, and serving utensils, and glassware is all tumblers, goblets, stemware, etc.

DRINKWARE

I don't know..............glasses??????????

Glasses.
