15 people for dinner. How many rolls do you think I need to cook?!

Question: How do I figure out how much tea to make and how many deserts I need? Help!

Rule of thumb: Count on at least 2 rolls per person. I'm from the school of "better to have too much than not enough" so I'd get 4 dozen. Tea is a little more difficult because some people won't want tea (at least I THINK some people won't be interested). I'd plan on at least 4 full pots of tea. Dessert is tough without knowing what you plan to serve, so I'd advise you to have 3 or 4 things to choose from, and each choice should serve about 12 people.

I would say at least 30-two for each. It depends also on how many side dishes you are making. If you are making quite a few, 30 should definetly be enough. However, if you aren't making much food at all, rolls are filling, so bake away!

35

i would say 2 servings for each person.

That's actually 3 questions. But, since I feel magnanimous today, I'll give you my opinion on all 3. Figure two rolls a person, hot tea, two cups, iced tea, two 12 oz. glasses, and one dessert a person. TAHDAAAH!!!

i would cook 2 for every person most people like 2

I'd plan for at least 2 per person, three if you have the budget and time (you can always put out the extra for the birds).

For tea and coffee, I plan for one full pot of coffee (approx. 10-12 cups) for every four people (to have on hand, you can make as many pots as needed), and estimate 1/3 of the guests will want tea. However, you know your guests' tastes better. I'd get a box of 15-25 tea bags, and just put a kettle (or 2 quart saucepan) on for hot water.

Prepackaged desserts will usually say on the package how many it'll serve. I'd think two to three pies or cakes (or a mix of both) for 15 people. or two pies and a batch of brownies or cookies. One quart of vanilla ice cream and a can of whipped cream will round it out.

Good luck with the party. Hope it goes well!

15-20 if you have other appetizers; 30 if not. I found this out the hard way, but people are suckers for well cooked bread/ rolls (esp. around the holidays). I have always tried to make less so my guests wouldn't fill up on bread (and actually wait for the real food), but over the years I've learned to just accept it. So, two per person should cover you quite nicely.
Oh and if you have children coming, go ahead and make more. Those little ones just love filling up on bread and stuff.

I would say about 30 rolls and have at least 6 different kinds of dessert, and buy a couple bottles of tea at the store so you won't have to worry about making it.

2/person is exceptible to me. so 30 total.
make desserts in mini portions like cupcakes, or tarts, muffins, small and same portion size for everyone. 1 for each so 15 total. teabags will take care of your tea.
