White elephant/ Yankee Swap gift ideas needed??!
Answers: So this is the first year I will be going over to my boyfriends family gathering for Christmas and they will be having a white elephant/yankee swap gift exchange. I need some ideas on what to bring....in past years I have brought lottery tickets and a small bottle of peppermint schnopps with chocolate shot glasses however these were gifts for my friends parties and not my boyfriends family. Any ideas on something that would be appropriate yet reasonably priced (under $20) that people would want to steal over and over again??
A nice bottle of wine and a pair of glasses? Rosemount Estates Shiraz is about $10 a bottle (and consistently good) and many stores (grocery/Marshall's/Target/etc.) have very nice wine glasses for under $5 each.
A Blockbuster (or local video store) giftcard, some microwave popcorn ad a fancy bowl for movie night? Also- many theaters have gift certificates available- $20 is a movie for two 'round these parts.
A Starbucks gift card.
A box of fancy chocolates (Godiva, etc.) and a pretty tray/bowl to display?
I'm doing this at work. I am putting together a "cook's" bag.
Recipe cards, a couple of new cool gadgets and 2 new oven mitts that are the "hot" items right now. The ones you can grab anything with.
We would put a 20.00 in an envelope or 20.00 gift card if no cash is allowed. Everyone wants the money!
