Teen New Year's Party?!

Question: My friend and I wanted to throw a Christmas party, but it's a little too late for that now haha. So we're going to throw a New Year's Party. The people are going to be 13-14 years olds, girls and boys. I've never thrown a party before so any ideas like what games to play (please don't suggest kissing games) food to have, what time to have it, things like that. Thanks!

Black and silver are great gender-neutral new years colors so use those as your decorating reference.

Dancing is alway a great way for guys and girls to have fun at a party. maybe ask every gues for 2 songs they want to hear and come up with a playlist ahead of time.

Come up with some games, team games, the compative spirit will get people interested in the evening and bring them together.

Have a few disposable cameras being passed around that way people can record the evening as you are making memories together.

Have it from 8:30pm-12:30am that way you actually get to celebrate the new year together. See if you can offer a place for people to crash if their parents cant pick up.

MAybe have it from like 5:00 to 10:00 and have it outside with candles and have a barbeque kinda thing going on.
My friend had one for her End of The Summer Party and it rocked!

Hope I helped!

I totally agree with:

RockOn

Maybe the party should Start at like 11:00 and U party and then at 11:59 you start the countdown!!!!! The food should be chips, salsa, guacomole, chocolate, lots of soda to keep everyone p, and umm i guess gold fish? pretzels and the games should be like Scene It and you have teams, and then outside you could play tag or everyone hides and the tagger has to find everyone but when he or she sees you, you run!!!! And it's dark out so it's harder, but you can use a flash light. I hope you have a great time at your party, hope this helps!

Maybe you should have drawings and contests! Also, you should have chaperone's for extra security! Be creative!

time it depends... thinking it's new years, would it end at midnight? or 1am?
-food, I would make it easy and fun... I would do appetizers that appeal to your group of friends, mini pizzas, mini corn dogs, chicken wings/fingers, potatoe skins, nachos
-you can make some fun non-alcohol drinks
-games... i would brainstorm on google... there are tons of ideas out there.. you can even buy big not pads at office max and play win loose or draw, you can play taboo... games that can be broken into teams that are going to cause a lot of laughter
-for sure have some good cds made with music for the party...
-for dessert you can either have a big cake... or what i do for my friends and we are in our 20's is that I buy different ice creams, different toppings like crushed cookies and sprinkles, with cones... everyone likes ice cream and it's something that if they have to prepare their own it's like an event..
-of course the count down to midnight...

Humph...

Well let's start with the time, I am not sure if your talking about New Year's EVE or day!? If it is the day probably 5pm-10pm, Eve probably 8pm-1am. Now for the food...

Here are some ideas...
1. Chips and salsa or guacamole
2. Pizza bites
3. Taquitos
4. Pizza Bagels
5. An assortment of potato chips
6. Punch, soda, water, etc.
7. Brownie bites
8. Veggie or fruit platter
9. Order a pizza
10. Tater tots
11. Cookies/cupcakes
12. Pretzels
13. Cheese and cracker platter
14. Popcorn
15. Finger sandwiches

Alright, I think you get the idea! Just pick out easy snacks and finger food, it's that simple!!!

Entertainment....
I would probably have some movies and/or board games, etc. to keep you guests busy.

Well I hoped this helped!!! :*)
