I'm making a cookie and brownie platter to take to drop off @ a friends house, bring milk?!

Question: I don't drink milk. The family is very large , but my aunt told me to forfeit the milk, that it'll be a waste of my money. She believes they'll be drinking other things. What do you think?

Bring the cookie and brownie platter. The host or hostess at a drop off provides the beverages, which will most likely be punch, coffee and tea. It would be inappropriate to bring milk. It will make it look like you don't think the host will provide enough to drink. And most likely-their fridge will be full of party foods, so it will cause them a problem trying to figure out where to store it. I've never seen milk provided at a drop in. It's a festive time, where more party-like drinks such as punch, hot cocoa or eggnog are served.

don't worry about it! Nobody is expecting that from you- just tell them what your bringing and they should do the rest!

I wouldn't worry about it either, unless they are a bit broke and have kids. Then it would be a nice thing to do.

take milk if it's not far away (the milk would get warm), but only if they have kids. holiday party? maybe eggnog would be better

I believe that it would be an excellent idea myself,it shows how thoughtful you are and the extra effort you put into your gift.Way to go... the world needs more friends like you.

Just the brownies, OK?

you aunt's probably right.... and probably some guests might have lactose intolerance to milk so it would come to waste

NOT everyone drinks milk with brownies. I drink coffee with mine.

Not necessary to take milk, although if you want to drop off a beverage, here's an alternative that will keep if not used right away:
Swiss Miss Instant Hot Chocolate packs, come in a box of 10 w/wo marshmallows.
Usually find everything from colas, tea, egg nog, hot chocolate, spiced cider and coffee at seasonal parties.
