Help with 16th birthday party.?!

Question: Okay so I live in Australia and 16ths aren't really that big a deal. Me and my friend are thinking of having a joint party, with a budget of about $500-700. It will be in Jan-Feb. (Summer) and we want to invite 15 people. We like the idea of a black and white theme, but we have no idea what we will actually do, like serve mocktails probs, but like no idea about the entertainment as our friends aren't the type who are entertained by blasting music for 4 hours into the house. Please help : )

Like I said, I've been looking for ideas on the internet, and found like parties with a budget of like $7000 which is ridiculous, because here 16ths are like any other birthday here

First of all, if turning 16 isn't BIG deal there in Australia, then don't spend a ton of money on planning a party, especially if only a handful of guests are coming. You can still have a fun and festive party on a small budget. I suggest perhaps doing a casual movie and dinner out. Make reservations for a group at your favorite restaurant followed by seeing a fun movie in the movie theatre. Also, since it will be summer, then I would also suggest throwing a Beach Party with Bon Fire and BBQ. Put outsome Tiki Torches and streamers and make it into a "Hawaiian Luau" type of themed party. Those are just a couple budget friendly ideas for throwing a party. Good Luck!

My advice is to spend $75 and save the rest for college...im not kidding...order pizza and think of your future

Get a D.J. who has a wide variety of music and simply request that the volume be kept a moderate level. I really like the idea of a joint party, especially if your handing out big, fat joints! Wish I could be there for that!

INVITATIONS: Make sure your invitations are done in black and white. Even just using Black construction paper and white glitter, it you want to go cheapy cheapy. In the invitation, encourage guests to WEAR ONLY BLACK AND WHITE!

DECORATIONS: White (or clear) lights (like the mini Christmas lights). Black and White Streamers, Black and White Balloons. Also, take some Black and White pictures of the two of you and have them blown up. That would be a very cool and classy (and still cheap) touch. Black tablecloths and white plates/cups/utensils.

FOOD: Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate Table Fountains with things to dip into it. Or just pieces of dark chocolate and white chocolate as party favors. Instead of a pricey birthday cake, do a cupcake cake. Of course you'll have chocolate covered ones and vanilla covered ones and do different tiers of the two.
