New Years Eve party food.?!
Answers: Any ideas for finger food please that I can make. I don't want to go for the standard sausage rolls and sandwiches.. would like to impress for reasonable prices. It needs to be stuff I can get in the UK.
Dill pickle idea mentioned already is good. I've made the same thing with asparagus that has been slightly steamed...yum.
Make a hot cheese dip or spinach dip with sourdough or pumpernickle round for dipping.
Olive tapenade. Spread cream cheese on a crusty bread slice, top with tapenade.
chicken, pork or beef skewers, instead of cutting chunks of meat to put on long skewers, slice it into strips and put them on small skewers (large toothpicks), bunched just enough to make them pretty. Season however you like and add a dipping sauce. ON chicken I would do a balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt & pepper. Pork would go well with greek seasoning & olive oil for a mini-souvlaki & beef can be marinated in beef & steak rub with olive oil.
stuffed mushrooms
shrimp ring with dipping sauce
I had baby dill pickles wrapped in deli ham that had been spread with cream cheese at a function recently. They were surprisingly good.
you could have cool snacks like in the movie, "I Love You, Alice B. Toklas" !
Why don't you go and read some nice recipes. I will recommend to prepare dolma, laghmajo, and some dishes from Georgian cuisine, they are very tasty. You can choose easy ones. You can search this in google.
Bruschetta is a wonderful appetizer and easy to make. How about spinach and artichoke dip with chips?
I would make a dip with chips
get one thing of velveeta cheese and a can of rotel milder pour the whole can or two depending on how much you want to make of it then mix both cheese and rotel together and stick in microwave until melted and then stir
put chips around ( I like the tostitos with lime on them best )
