I threw a party last summer....but I invited the people too far in advance and did not require them to RSVP. Big mistake.

I threw a promotion party along with another promotee. We had a pig roasted and rented a place! Best party I have ever been to!
February of 2006. It was my 33rd birthday and all my family was in town from a long distance away for another reason, so it became a family reunion too! Best party I've ever hosted.
