Should I have a sweet 16 or an 18 birthday bash?!

Question: if you have the luxury...do both!! if not i'd say do the 18th birthday thing. it's way more fun and you'll be mature enough to have friends over without the parents! I did both and they were both a blast! my sweet 16 was all about family and my 18th was about friends as I was out partying!!

Duh sweet sixteen nobody has a sweet eighteen!!!!!!!

why not both?

16's Ok but the real party's HS grad, then the 3yr blur til your 21

It depends where you live I guess.

Where I come from, in Australia, the answer would undoubtably be 18th, as when you turn 18 you can vote, drink, drive etc.

16ths are a bit OTT in america, with budgets of 1000s of dollars, just for a non-significant age. I mean, what are you allowed to do when you turn 16? Well in Aus, you're allowed to have sex. Wow. big deal...
