My kitchen/diner badly needs a cooker hood, effective to remove cooking smells but not too noisy. Any advice?!

Question: why not get an inline fan,the fan can be sited anywhere along the length of duct, thus removing the noise from the room.

clean it every time you use it and use vinager. spray some 10w 40 on the fan make sure you clean the fan first.after you wait 5 minutes. turn the fan on and off again. if you do not have 10 w 40 use some olive oil put a little on a rag and wipe the fan area.

used restaurant supply store... make themturn them on adn listen before you buy.

Also, once they're on, they just become background noise.

Hi there. I need one too!

There's a fairly new consumer review site called Viewpoints where folks write about all sorts of products. I remember seeing a couple of range hood reviews. One was rated 5 stars as I recall, and the lady who reviewed said it was easy to put in and worked great.

The site has a search, so I'd think you could put in range or stove hood and see there.

That's the only place I've noticed any consumer reviews on stove/range hoods.

And, you can also ask questions in the comment section. I've found folks real good about more details if asked.
