Anniversaries are such special times! Especially the one year ones! Anyway, if you aren't interested in going out to your favorite restaurant (which might also include any and all that would remind you of your most romantic moments with your beloved), here are some ideas for a romantic dinner for two:

1. Filet Mignon and Mini Lobster tails, with drawn butter, double baked potatos, and peas and onions in butter sauce.
2. Grilled chateaubriand with sauteed mushrooms, sour cream mashed potatos, fresh green beans with pecans.
3 Pork tenderloin with a teriyaki glaze, rice pilaf, baby snap peas in butter.
4. Stuffed chicken breasts with artichoke hearts, feta cheese, bread crumbs; rice pilaf, baby lettuce salad with raisins, gorgonzola, and glazed pecans.
5. Stuffed beef tenderloin, cabernet glaze, mashed potato casserole, fresh green beans with lemon butter.

For dessert? Chocolate Mousse! and lots of great wine/champagne.

Happy Anniversary!

Restaurant.

Otherwise, favorite foods that take more time to prepare so aren't made as often. Especially with a fancy dessert.

petite steak diane

roasted new potatos with parsley and butter

fluted mushrooms

endive salad with raspberry vinagraitte

miniature chocolate mousse in demitasse cups

For our first anniversary we made steamed crab legs with lemon garlic butter. It was so much fun and informal to sit around and toss shells. And the next day, I tried my hand at crab stock and made a bisque. We still swear by this meal for all our special occasions. (Although we add veal piccata sometimes, budget allowing.)

your favourite meal and his, brought to you guys by a waiter. you can make it extra special and rent a side of the restaurant, in a corner and the waiter to be just yours. with candles, and roses on the table. and in the end some fresh strawberries, and a fondue "machine" where you can both dip the fruits and feed eachother. this will surely end up in a night to remember. try to pay for all in advance, just tip the guy at the end. so you can just get up and leave when you're done.

think about it? why try something new, when the favourite food makes you happiest. it is ok if it is nothing special in the main meal, because the atmosphere and the dessert, and the waiter, will do the trick. try it!
