i am a professional pastry chef who has owned her own establishment and private baking business. here is the best advice i can give you:
my current business proposition is named. the name for it came to me out of the way i want my future establishment to look, to sell, and to provide service. i didn't have a name at first, so i focused on what baked goods i wish to offer and my personality. it is my personality that has to be included because i have to sell the idea and sell the product.
whatever you name your business, do so by envisioning what you desire to give to your customers. you want to serve cupcakes, teas and coffees, etc.... then try starting with something like Cafe' Cupcake and move from there.
find a local artist whose style you like. ask that artist to help you make a logo that will represent your brand - - your name. most artists will tweek their work to fit you - and you may not have to pay them with cash - they might take their pay in trade.
lastly, define and stick with your vision for your business. let it come from your heart - the name, logo, and look will pour out of your heart as your concept does.
enjoy this process - it is exciting and maddening and scary and messy and crazy. it will be a grand adventure. let it evolve as it will - surround yourself with creative souls.
