Do u think lasagna is a good dish to serve at my sweet 16?!

Yeah I agree it is too messy. I personally hate it with a vengeance. But it's cheap to make and it can be prepared in huge quantities easily, plus a lot of people do actually like it--for whatever crazy reason. So it's a win-win in the sense that it's easy to make, easy to serve, easy on the taste buds, and easy on her wallet.
it cud get a lil messy but i love it:) so if it were me i wud serve it...

It's easy to make large portions..and also easy to make ahead of time and heat up when ready. I'm sure your mom is thinking along these lines.
You don't really state what type of party you are having, but if there is a table for everyone to sit and eat it will be great! If it were a dance and not anywhere to set your plate, that wouldn't be so good.
Just depends on the circumstance, but I doubt it would be too messy.

lasagna is good it's just that it's very common since your going to celebrate your sweet 16 once why don't you try new things try new food to serve during your party don't you think that if you serve pasta it's just a bit common not unless it's a different kind of pasta try new things to serve during your party don't just stick to the usual food you serve during parties experiment be different in a way that your sweet 16 will be something unforgettable.
Mom is thinking about budget and time spent preparing food etc. How about you give her a hand and come up with some pasta alternatives that you and your friends are willing to help make ahead of time. Here are some ideas:
1. Spaghetti with Meatsauce and Meat balls
2. Fettucini Alfredo
3. Linguini al Pesto
4. Sausage and Peppers over pappardelle
5. Grilled Italian Sausage Sandwiches with peppers and onions.
6. Angel hair pasta and fresh tomatos with shaved parmesan

Lasagna with a good salad, some garlic bread and bruchetta appetizers sounds delicious. I am hungry now. But I see your point- it's not really party food. Cant you have a nice sweet 16 with your family eating a lasgna dinner with a couple friends and then have different hors d'ouvres at your party like snack sandwiches, chips, dip, and cake? If your mom really insists ask why, and try to understand her. Maybe you will agree. You can even have an Italian themed birthday, with carnivale masks for each guest and party games involving meatballs. It could be fun.
