I need help with planning a menu for two, romantic birthday dinner?!

Question: OK I am planning a birthday dinner for a special man who is somewhat new in my life. I have excellent cooking skills, mad skills! But I want to get some input. I have these things in my kitchen. Steak, chicken, all sorts of vegetables, strawberries, grapes, chocolate, cake, gingerbread cake, and lots more things. So what menu can you come up with? Thank you in advance!

ok i think you should make strawberry chocalate cheescake
or try strawberrryshortcake served warm with cold whipped topping, you could make steak on a grill pan and roast vegtables in the oven until they carmalize

you could make chicken parmasian
with fruit parfai as desert

you could make steak pinwheels
stuffed with cream cheese and spinach
vegtable skewars

and if you have bananas , walnuts, and and brown sugar
baking powder, confectionar sugar -i reccomend
the banana, walnut cake with caramel frosting

also steak piziola is great

just decide on a theme be consistant stick to flavors that tie in to one another and you will do great
if you need more go to foodnetwork.com
they should have recipes for steakn chicken aswell as suggestions for a date night in

you could melt the chocolate and dip the strawberries and pieces of cake in it for dessert.

a simple roast chicken with roasted veggies is always easy - foolproof if you are nervous - and liked by most people. you could do a starter of one cheese, some bread, and a couple pieces of fruit - bleu cheese with a pear and an apple are plenty for two people.

if you have balsamic vinegar, make a balsamic vinegar, sugar syrup by reducing the vinegar and sugar over low heat until it thickens. cool and then pour over strawberries. if you have vanilla ice cream, put the strawberries on top and then the balsamic syrup. yum. i am really allergic to strawberries, but will eat this and suffer the consequences. top with a bit of shaved chocolate for pretty.

have fun - keep it simple so you don't have to fuss - and be charming. the simplest food can be the most memorable.

bright blessings

I'd serve a thick juicy perfectly seasoned strip steak, grilled with a bleu cheese crust. Nothing gets to a man like a good steak in my opinion.
I'd pare it with a nice risotto, either a classic fresh caesar salad, or a mixed greens salad topped with a balsamic reduction vinaigrette topped with a great gargonzola and homeade croutons and some red onion.

Black Truffle Risotto

1 large shallot, finely minced 1 clove garlic, finely minced 1 c. Arborio rice 3 c. (approximately) warm chicken stock or unsalted chicken/beef broth

1 oz. black truffle, finely minced
1/2; c. grated parmesan

In a heavy-bottom saucepan on medium heat, melt 2 T. of butter. Add the shallots and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 4 minutes. Add the rice and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Add 1 c. of the chicken stock and cook, stirring, until the rice absorbs most of the liquid. Keep adding the rest of the stock, one cup at a time, until the rice is cooked and all of the stock is absorbed. Remove the pan from the heat, stir in the truffle, parmesan and remaining tablespoon of butter. Divide onto two plates and serve right away.A good wind suggestion is: Vintage red burgundy

Sharing a small fondue with a man after dinner if very intimate and fun, not to mention delish.

Bergamot Chocolate Fondue
1 c. heavy cream
1 c. milk
1 T. Earl Grey tea leaves
6 oz. 70 percent bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped

Marshmallows, strawberries and cubes of pound cake (for dipping)

Heat the cream, milk and tea leaves in a saucepan over medium heat until just starting to boil. Remove from the heat and let steep for 5 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves and pour the warm cream over the chopped chocolate. Whisk until smooth, pour into a serving bowl and serve immediately with marshmallows, strawberries and cubes of pound cake.

Have fun. No matter the meal, the company makes the meal, but I remeber that first meal I cooked my husband 36 years ago. And, he's a chef! No pressure there! lol
