I'm hosting a dinner party. Is there anything I should add to this menu?!

Question: It'll be casual, but not TOO casual. Like casual fridays at the office, but not at work.
I figured I'd start with some hors d'ouvres before dinner is actually served, too.
Hors d'ouvres - vienna sausages, pickles, crackers
Dinner - I thought I would do this buffet style, in case everybody doesnt like something they can find it. I will serve: Spagettios, Kraft Mac N' Cheese, Beefaroni, Creamed corn, Sliced bread, Chicken Ramen, Beef Ramen, 'oriental' flavor Ramen, if I still have a can, maybe some green beans
Dessert, fruit cocktail.

Am I missing a course? Please let me know

Oh my! You may want to do cheetos as a side course..ha ha ha!

...a little Alka Seltzer on the side.
JOKING!
Sounds like heckafun.

I'll be there.

Um, that's a very odd menu.

But you are completely forgetting about slice and bake cookies for dessert.

And maybe canned chili.

Yes. A bottle of ripple. Perhaps some fuzzy navel boone's farm wine.

EEeeuuuu.

I think you need a dessert of twinkies, hostess cupcakes, and ho-ho's it would make a better match to the rest of the menu.

nah ur good, just make sure the mac and cheese is the shrek kind. and make sure u dont 4get the beer!

Grape now and laters and BooBerry cereal. You should name this "I'm clearing out my cupboards party" LOL LOL.....

You have a ton of food planned. It may be better to simplify the meal and make a few dishes instead of so many.

Why not make the mac and cheese but instead of serving it right away, put it in a casserole dish mixed up with mixed vegetables, and put extra cheese (even possibly some bread crumbs--made by putting bread in the toaster) on top. Bake it in the oven until the cheese melts on top (350F for 45 min or so). This way it will be hot and ready to go when you are (you can always leave it in the oven longer as long as it's covered with foil to prevent it drying out.

The Ramen sounds hard to do. Ramen tends to go cold and then mushy. I would recommend doing a Ramen salad instead. Here's a recipe from cooks.com though it doesn't necessarily have to be done the night before.

You can still do your spagettios and bread (you may want to put out some butter/jam with it) if you want. But, you'll still have all your bases covered.

Good luck and have fun.

RAMEN SALAD

Dressing:

1 cup oil (canola is best)
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup white vinegar
2 packages beef ramen soup seasoning

Salad:

1 lb. package cole salad mix
2 packages beef ramen noodles
1 cup salted sunflower seeds
1 cup slivered toasted slivered almonds
1/2 cup carrots (if not in the cole slaw mix)

Prepare the dressing a day in advance by combining ingredients for dressing. Refrigerate overnight.
Break up noodles, mix all dry ingredients together, pour dressing over dry ingredients; mix well and chill before serving.

Salad! Need some vegetables added to your menu.

mmm...beefaroni!

lol

the menu is perfect...

What are you drinking?

The menu.....perfect.
Drinks....I suggest the store-brand kool-aid.
You can get the unsweetened kind and not add sugar....it will cost less. If your party guests complain, you should just stare at them blankly until they feel uncomfortable.
I hope everyone remembers his/her essay!

Some kind of potato with dinner would be good- mashed (boxed) is easiest, but chopped is cheaper (for mass) and better tasting (w/ butter and sour cream) chopped, not baked.. so broiled.

And some kind of salad in the dinner course too!

Fruit Cocktail is a great idea!

Be sure to have beverages too!

I suggest Little Debbie snacks and make sure to cut them into squares real fancy and stick toothpicks in them, so people will know they are at an upper class party.

You're missing the most important member of the food pyramid, Kenny: Sauerkraut. No dinner party is worth attending unless the host has copious amounts of sauerkraut. Period.

Any Box Wine will do so you can sit back with your guests around the stove with its burners on and smoke some Kools.
